Dear Readers:
In our last post we announced the launch of the Fair Grounds Racing Club, a low-risk way for racing fans to learn more about Thoroughbred ownership. Club membership is closing next week on December 20, 2016, so all interested parties should sign up now: read more membership details on the track’s club page here.
Trainer Al Stall, Jr., has two promising juveniles under his charge that were generously provided to the club by B. Wayne Hughes of Spendthrift Farm; and we know Hughes knows horses, he’s the owner of that mighty mare Beholder, who recently retired after her thrilling win in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Distaff! Both of the club’s horses are by Spendthrift sire Into Mischief, half-brother to Beholder and ranked as top juvenile sire of 2016.
This club moves fast—its two-year-old colt, Excitations, is already headed to the track for his debut race this Friday, December 16, 2016! Miguel Mena will be aboard the colt for Race 8 (4:53 p.m. Central) at Fair Grounds. The club’s second Thoroughbred is two-year-old filly Efforting, who will be making her maiden debut in January.
Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Editor, Antebellum Turf Times
