Here’s your chance to attend a free virtual tour of Neir’s Tavern in Queens, New York, on Thursday evening. This past winter, the Times reported about this historic race track bar that was opened in 1829 by the proprietor of the nearby Union Race Course. Read more about the history of the bar here in our previous post, and also see our follow-up piece regarding how city leaders saved it from closure.
During this one-hour Zoom event, Neir’s owner Loycent Gordon will provide a tour of the bar and will be joined by Natalie Milbrodt of Queens Memory, a project that is documenting and archiving the stories of Queens residents and small businesses. Join them to learn more about this 191-year-old New York treasure–even a scene from Goodfellas was filmed there!
