Yes, the Times’ posts have been less frequent lately, but never fear, for we have been busy engaged in research on new projects that will be announced soon!
In the meantime, we are sending our prayers to Louisiana and all those affected by the recent historic and catastrophic flooding. For those who wish to provide support, following are links to New Orleans-area charities that are taking online donations to help their neighbors in South Louisiana:
Junior League of New Orleans is taking donations at their headquarters located at 4319 Carondelet Street, Mondays through Fridays, including Target and WalMart gift cards in $20 amounts. They are also taking monetary donations at: https://www.jlno.org/louisiana-flood-relief/
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu reactivated a fund to contribute to flood recovery efforts. The NOLA Pay It Forward Fund, launched in partnership with the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is accepting donations at: http://www.gnof.org/nolapayitforward/
Second Harvest Food Bank is taking online donations at http://no-hunger.org/
Several New Orleans-area restaurants are serving as donation collection points across the city: http://www.nola.com/weather/index.ssf/2016/08/baton_rouge_flooding_new_orlea_1.html
Another easy way to donate: the American Red Cross is accepting $10 donations by texting LAFLOODS to 90999.
We thank you, and South Louisiana thanks you.
Sincerely,
Editor, Antebellum Turf Times
